Greg Bartlett – Principal Consultant

Greg manages business development for Primaltrust, leads strategic planning efforts, and takes and active role in managing each project.

Greg is a seasoned business development and project management professional with extensive experience managing private and tribal development projects. His superpowers include strategic planning, project management, site management, tribal relations, land acquisition, mineral rights, zoning, land use planning and permitting. As the founder and Principal Consultant at Primaltrust LLC, he provides business and project development services to renewable energy companies and projects, including utility-scale solar, green hydrogen, tribal wind and solar, hydro, solar crypto mining, and salt cavern energy storage initiatives.

Greg has worked as the Site & Outreach Manager for the Mohave Green Energy Hub leading community outreach and entitlement efforts, as well as consulting on innovative ways to minimize groundwater use. He has been responsible for zoning, permitting, and relationships within Mohave County, City of Kingman and the Hualapai Nation. He held a similar role as Managing Director of Mohave Sun Power LLC, where he developed the $2.5 billion Hualapai Valley Solar (HVS) project, a 4,000-acre solar thermal power plant.

Mr. Bartlett has served as business development and renewable energy consultant on more than 10 Tribal development projects. In addition, he has a strong background in managing private development projects and new companies. He has founded and co-founded several companies, including Digital Harmony Technologies, where he grew the company to 50+ employees and raised more than $10 million in funding and royalty agreements. His international experience is also noteworthy, with projects in Africa, Asia and Europe, including a $1.5 billion bauxite mine/refinery in Guinea.

Greg’s skills and expertise are complemented by his educational background, with S.M. and S.B. degrees in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has been a frequent invited speaker and lecturer at international consumer electronics, energy and automotive industry events, and has co-authored several publications.

Curt Brechtel – Project Manager

Curt is the primary Project Manager for Primaltrust’s green energy projects, responsible for all development activities including engineering, permitting, interconnection, procurement and construction management.

Curt has extensive experience in greenfield development and project management across the energy sector, with a particular focus on renewable energy. As Principal of CB Solar Development Advisory LLC, he provided senior development and EPC management services for utility-scale renewable energy projects. His expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, including development, sales, EPC contracting, engineering, permitting, interconnection, preconstruction and procurement.

Earlier in his career, Curt held leadership positions at several energy companies. As Director of Project Development at Silicon Ranch, he directed project development and pre-construction activities for utility-scale solar power facilities across the U.S. At Arizona Public Service (APS), he served as Resource Initiatives Project Manager, overseeing the development of new gas-fired generation facilities, including site selection, engineering, permitting and construction planning. His experience also includes roles focused on renewable energy procurement and development. As APS’s Resource Acquisition Manager and Power Procurement Manager he managed competitive procurement processes for conventional and renewable energy resources, developed RFPs, and led negotiations for long-term power purchase agreements.

Brechtel’s experience in the energy sector dates back to the 1980s, and includes roles at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. His work in renewable energy began in 2007, when he served as Renewable Generation Leader at APS, managing a group expanding the company’s renewable energy portfolio and negotiating major agreements such as the $4 billion Solana CSP project. Throughout his career, Curt has demonstrated a strong ability to manage complex energy projects, negotiate significant agreements, and adapt to evolving technologies and market conditions in the energy sector.

Curt is passionate about kite-boarding, and spends most of his free time flying above the water at his favorite windy spots in Gulf of Mexico. You can see a photo of him in action here.

Chris Bartlett – Controller & Communications

Chris manages communications and controls for Primaltrust development projects, including document control, compliance and public outreach management.

Chris has extensive experience in communications and administrative roles, with a strong focus on government service environments. From January 2011 to March 2023, he worked at the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Office in Florida, where he held several positions including Board Records Supervisor, Board Records Senior Trainer, Board Reporter, and Fiscal Records Specialist. In these roles, he demonstrated exceptional attention to detail by coordinating the capture and archiving of official records for 20-30 county boards, ensuring proper execution of procedural documents and contracts.

Chris successfully designed and maintained a metrics dashboard for reporting capabilities, created templates for writing ADA-compliant minutes, and developed the department’s first training program. His ability to effectively communicate complex information is further demonstrated by his role as a change agent and subject matter expert for the transition to new software supporting criminal and civil courts, where he researched, created, and presented reports on best practices.

Prior to his work in Florida, Chris worked as Finance Officer for the City of McCloud Service District in Northern California from 2008 to 2010. He wrote the district’s first policy and procedure manual and established the district’s first website to improve public communication. In his role as Controller and Director of Systems at TerraMai Reclaimed Woods from 2003 to 2008, he wrote company-wide policies and procedures, created email marketing campaigns, and wrote press releases for local media. These experiences highlight Chris’s focus on clear, detailed communication across various professional settings.

Augie Bartlett – Data Analyst & Mapmaker

Augie manages all Geographic Information System (GIS) and data analysis projects for Primaltrust, including KMZ mapping, database integrations and survey designs.

Augie has demonstrated a diverse range of skills and experiences across various roles, with a particular strength in data analysis, mapping, and communication. As a GIS and Digitization Specialist at Forterra, he documented land use history in the Alpine Lakes region of Washington State. In this role, he created maps to digitize analog historical land use documents into a GIS database, showcasing his ability to work with complex spatial data and transform it into accessible digital formats.

He conducted data analyses for an online survey of residents in Peach Springs, Arizona, as part of a research grant to study the feasibility of a new Hualapai Grocery Store and Deli. This experience demonstrated his ability to work with demographic data and contribute to community-focused research projects.

Augie’s communication skills are evident across his previous roles, particularly in customer service positions. At Share the Warmth food bank in Montreal, he provided bilingual customer service in both French and English, showcasing his language skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. His experience as an Assistant Instructor at Wilderness Awareness School highlights his ability to communicate complex information about the natural environment to children in an engaging manner. These experiences, combined with his academic background in Geography from McGill University, provide a well-rounded skill set that combines technical expertise in data analysis and mapping with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Rusha Moon – Illustrator & Modelmaker

Rusha creates visual artwork and physical models for Primaltrust, including infographics, illustrations and scaled 3D models.

Rusha is a multidisciplinary artist with a strong educational background, having earned a B.F.A. in General Fine Arts and Humanistic Studies from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her diverse artistic skills are evident in her extensive exhibition history, which includes both solo and group exhibitions. This breadth of experience demonstrates her ability to create compelling visual art that resonates with audiences in various settings.

Rusha’s expertise extends beyond traditional fine arts into practical applications, as shown by her experience in mural creation and production work. She has completed murals in Baltimore, Seattle, and Albuquerque, showcasing her ability to work on large-scale projects and adapt to different physical environments. Her role as art director for various movie productions and her experience as a muralist highlight her collaborative skills and ability to contribute to team projects, essential qualities for working on small development projects.

What sets Rusha apart is her innovative approach to art-making and her commitment to community-oriented work. She utilizes a wide range of media, including acrylic paint, weaving, PLA filament, collage, graphite, and ceramics, demonstrating her versatility as a modelmaker and illustrator. Her process of “instinctually moving things around until something begins to exist” speaks to her creativity and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, her focus on creating art that is meant to be shared and passed around aligns well with Primaltrust’s need for impactful, relatable visual content.
